Amend PA Humane Workshop
PAWS (Pocono Animal Welfare Society) is sponsoring a workshop which will address PA's animal cruelty laws.  The workshop will be conducted by APHE (Amend PA Humane Enforcement) and will outline their intentions/ideas for making legislative changes to the way these laws are enforced.  The workshop will last 90-120 minutes depending on questions. 
Light refreshments will be provided.

Have a Heart for Chained Dogs campaign-
PAWS Helps with Dogs Deserve Better's "Have a Heart for Chained Dogs" campaign



On Saturday, January 30, 2010, participants from the Pocono Mountain Public Library story hour helped to make Valentines for chained dogs. After reading two stories about how to properly treat animals, participants hand made over 20 Valentine cards. All the cards were then sent to Dogs Deserve Better and later distributed by mail or hand delivered to owners that chain their dogs outside. Over 14,000 Valentine cards were made across the United States and Canada! Thank you to everyone that helped! We had a fantastic time and look forward to next year!

Gift-Wrapping at Borders
(December 2009)

PAWS volunteers will be gift-wrapping for donations at Borders in Stroudsburg, PA.  Stop by and see us on Dec. 4, 12, 23 and 24th.


First Annual "Paws in the Park" Autumn Dog Walk
(October 2009)

Our first annual "Paws in the Park" Autumn Dog Walk was held on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Tobyhanna State Park in Tobyhanna, PA.  The event was a HUGE success thanks to area residents and businesses who supported this endeavor.

We will be holding our second annual walk at Tobyhanna State Park on October 3, 2010.  We expect to broaden the venue next year to include some additional activities.  Stay tuned.
