PAWS in the Park Dog Walk &
Blessing of the Pets
Saturday, September 24th
10am- 1pm
Rain or Shine
Please join PAWS (with or without a dog!) on September 24, 2011 for a walk on the lovely Lakeside Trail at Tobyhanna State Park. Walkers can walk any distance they choose on the 5-mile trail.
Your can begin your walk anytime between 10 AM and 1 PM. This is a rain or shine event. All dogs must be leashed, licensed, and current on their rabies vaccination.
Registration donation is $10.00 (children free), but we hope that you will ask friends and family to sponsor your walk to help raise additional money. Registration fee is waived for anyone raising $25.00 or more. The donations generated by this event are one of our main sources of funding. Your support will help us continue our work with local animals in need. **You do not have to bring a dog! You may walk in your pet's name, walk to remember a loved one, or simply walk to support our efforts.

Blessing of the Pets
2pm at the Icehouse Pavillion (Lot#1)

A Blessing of Pets will take place at 2 pm to commemorate the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi (the Patron Saint of Animals). Please join us to honor our loyal companions. We will meet at the Icehouse Pavillion (Lot#1).
Bring your dog on a leash and your cat or other pet in a carrier. If your pet is unable to attend for any reason, simply bring a photo of your pet. Don't bring pets that aren't people or animal friendly or that will be frightened.
In addition to blessing those pets that are currently living, we would like to honor those pets that have been lost or passed away. Please submit the names of those animals prior to the service by e-mailing the pet’s first and last name to info@poconoanimalwelfaresociety.org so they can be mentioned by name.

Directions to Tobyhanna State Park
The park entrance is 2.1 miles north of the community of Tobyhanna on PA 423.
PA 423 intersects with I-380, 2.5 miles south of the park entrance.
The park can also be reached from Interstate 84 via PA 507, PA 191 and PA 423,
a total distance of 11.4 miles.

First Annual "Paws in the Park" Autumn Dog Walk
(October 2009)
Our first annual "Paws in the Park" Autumn Dog Walk was held on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Tobyhanna State Park in Tobyhanna, PA. The event was a HUGE success thanks to area residents and businesses
who supported this endeavor.
